Soft       (SD colour 6 minutes colour single channel 1992)

Soft re-works a National Television PR documentary celebrating the British monarchy just prior to the release of the ‘Squidgy’ tapes that was about to update the royal family's squeaky clean reputation.

Soft extends the royal ‘by appointment’ endorsement of household products to include Wales, Scotland, Parliament and the Armed forces to show the quaint spectacle of the modern Monarchy obscures its 'above politics' status and the extreme deference it still elicits while playing down its position at the apex of the British State’s power.

The film was produced as part of a show at Four Corners Cinema called ‘A spontaneous Outburst of National Rejoicing’.
