Gold Chain looks at the culturally sacrosanct moment when a mother sees her child on the ultrasound for the first time. The golden moment of love at first sight described here however, is not unconditional and is mixed with the deeper hidden longing of the mother to be looked after. This mother already sees the unborn child as her future care-giver. At the same time, the child-to-be has an innate sense of survival and has already developed a strong instinct to be whatever it takes to be loved. The pregnant question is how will this chain of love unfold?
